US Infected: 613, 886 Dallas Infected: 2,354 Texas Deaths: 345
It seems like there was something off with the number of deaths yesterday. Yesterday, the Texas death toll was reported as 480, and if you recall, I was shocked over the huge number of deaths. Today’s number is 345, which seems much more in line with how things have been going around here. The troubling news today was that President Trump has pulled US funding to the World Health Organization.
Today, Sunshine’s friend turned 16. While there was no way for us to really do anything for her, we did a drive-by visit. Careful to keep our 6 foot distancing, we drove up and then called her to come outside. The girls had a nice little chat and we played a happy birthday song for her over the Bluetooth speakers. It was fun, so we went around the block and hit another couple of friends. We even drove over to visit one of (s)Tinker’s friends! It was so good to see friends’ faces! I highly suggest drive-by “friendings”!
One nice side effect to our drive this afternoon was getting to see the wildflowers in bloom. Every spring, the medians are filled with wildflowers, and it’s always to joyous to see them in bloom.
It’s very cold here this evening. I spent quite a bit of time this afternoon cleaning out the rabbits’ house and giving them their flea and tick treatments. Once I finished that and got dinner on to cook, I pretty much was done for. The work of cleaning their cages coupled with the cold temperatures is making me super stiff and sore tonight.
Other than that, not too much else is going on. We seem to be getting on each others’ nerves a lot today, so I’m trying to give lots of space to everyone. Every once in awhile, we seem to just get in each others’ way and we get snippy. It’s not pleasant, but I guess it’s not unusual. That’s part of the reason the kids and I went out visiting today. To find some happiness instead. I’m hopeful that it passes soon and we can get back to some kind of coexistance!
The day is done and I am too. Time to call it and get some much needed rest!
